Gel Manicure

WHAT IS GEL POLISH? Gel polish is made up of acrylic monomers and oligomers that bond together when placed under UV/LED light. This process is called curing, and in a matter of seconds, the once-liquid gel turns into a hard, chemical-resistant coating.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN GEL POLISH AND REGULAR POLISH? Gel polish is thicker than ordinary nail polish. The primary feature distinguishing it from a classic manicure is a part of the curing application process since gel nail polish does not dry naturally.
WHAT IS HARD GEL? Technically speaking, hard gel (also called traditional or standard gel) is similar to acrylic in its chemical makeup. It's made of monomers and/or oligomers (chains of monomers) plus other ingredients that help the gel remain workable, adhere to the nail, harden properly and resist yellowing. Technically speaking, hard gel (also called traditional or standard gel) is similar to acrylic in its chemical makeup. It's made of monomers and/or oligomers (chains of monomers) plus other ingredients that help the gel remain workable, adhere to the nail, harden properly and resist yellowing.

Hard gel is applied to the nail straight from the pot (no mix ratio required) and each layer is cured under a UV or LED light. The curing process, called polymerization, creates a strong, compact polymer that solvents can't penetrate-which means hard gel can only be removed by filing. After curing, a tacky film of uncured gel, called the inhibition layer, is left and must be removed with nail cleanser.

polygel

VHAT IS ACRYGEL/POLYGEL? Polygel nails are a newcomer to the beauty industry, with many people questioning what makes them so different to the previous two options. Polygel is essentially the lovechild of acrylic and gel, combining both their good qualities but leaving out all the bad stuff (if only you could do that with men, eh.)

Polygel can be applied as an overlay on your natural nails, or asa nail enhancement. It is still cured under a UV / LED light, but it is a lot lighter than both gel and acrylic nails. It also has a much lighter fragrance, which is great for people that like the look f acrylics but can't stand the smell! In terms of removing Polygel nails, the polish is buffed off rather than soaked off. However, the remaining polish can be soaked after if needed.
WHAT ARE ACRYLIC NAILS? Acrylic nails are made of a combination of liquid and powder that's laid over your nail with a brush. Once the mixture is applied, your nails are filed and shaped to emulate the look of natural nails.

DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ACRYLIC & GEL NAILS The main difference from gel nails is in the product itself that consist of the liquid monomer and the powder polymer. Acrylic sets naturally in minutes without the help of any equipment.

Builder in a bottle

WHAT IS BUILDER IN A BOTTLE? Builder In A Bottle" is a FILE OFF builder gel ideal for creating strong overlays and as a strengthening barrier for natural nails.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BIAB AND GEL POLISH Builder in a Bottle is a hard gel and is made to act as a super strong base for nails. Your normal gel colour is a gel polish which is made to last between 2-3 weeks before being redone.
WHAT ARE APRES GELX TIPS? Apres Gel-X nails are like the the lovechild of a gel mani, acrylic extensions and press-on nails. They're applied over your entire nail bed (not just the tips, like acrylics or hard gel extensions). The extensions are clear - which means they can be used to create trends like seagrass nails- and come in different shapes and lengths.

Apres Gel-X nail extensions are made from the same gel that's in polish. This means they're a lot thinner, more malleable and - best of ll - more natural -looking than traditional extensions. First, your nail is prepped with a primer. The extension is then applied with a layer of clear gel polish, which is cured under an LED lamp to bond it to the natural nail. Once applied, they can be painted just like a normal mani. The whole process takes around an hour and a half.

How long do they last? Apres Gel-X extensions "grow out" over the course of about 3-4 weeks. While acrylic extensions have a similar lifespan, the regrowth is much less noticeable with Apres Gel because they're thinner and don't lift at the edges.

How are they removed? Proper removal is important to make sure your natural nail doesn't get damaged. Apres Gel-X nails are made from gel, so are removed just like a gel manicure- the top layer is broken with an electric file before being soaked off with acetone.
